Wine barrels are typically made from oak, which can vary in type (such as French or American oak), each imparting different flavors to the wine.

The wine barrels typically have a beautiful deep red or burgundy wine stain on the interior of the staves and heads and a natural light blonde appearance on the outside .

Whiskey barrels are traditionally made from oak, often charred on the inside to enhance the flavor of the whiskey. The exterior is typically more rustic and distressed given their longer aging time.

We use mostly locally sourced wine and whiskey barrels, barn wood, and other salvaged and upcycled items for our pieces. Occasionally we make some great finds out of the local area that we simply can't resist!

All charcuterie boards, food trays, cutting boards, bottle stoppers and cocktail smokers are sealed with food grade oil that can be easily cleaned with dish soap and water .

All other pieces are stained, sealed or both with furniture grade stain and/or polyurethane . Annual resealing is recommended for items left outside year round.

Although we take great pride in upcycling and reusing previously enjoyed pieces, we do not specialize in restoring furniture. If you have a creative idea for an old piece, we would be happy to discuss the possibilities.

All barrels and natural woods have their own unique character. Color matching is not an exact science in this process. The age of the wood, how it was stored and what it was previously used for give it its very own distinct personality . Finishes can be chosen, but how each piece of wood takes the color will vary. No two items will be exactly the same, which is what makes these projects so exciting and special.

If you have any issues with your items contact us and if it is due to faulty craftsmanship we will repair or replace your item. These items will need to be evaluated. Issues due to normal wear and tear and user error are not eligible for return. If possible, repairs can be quoted.
